Diamondbacks #2 Prospect to Miss Time With an Injury
Olivia Gyapong / USA TODAY NETWORK

Even the Diamondbacks’ top prospects are not immune to the relentless injury bug, as shortstop Tommy Troy is reportedly set to miss 4-6 weeks due to a left hamstring strain, according to Jesse Friedman of PHNX Sports.

Troy was drafted 12th overall by the D-backs in the 2023 draft out of Stanford University.

This season, Troy remains with the Hillsboro Hops, Arizona’s High-A affiliate. In 12 games, he has posted a .184 batting average, a decline from his .247 batting average in 2023.

During his junior year at Stanford, Troy smashed 17 home runs and recorded a 1.177 OPS.

Troy currently holds the position of the Diamondbacks’ #2 prospect, trailing only shortstop Jordan Lawlar.
